twirLED: light up skirt utilizes an accelerometer sensor, a micro-controller, and a strand of LEDs as an actuator to light up a skirt when it spins. There are many less subtle light up garments, but for social dancing like blues, swing, and salsa, the “show-off” move for a dancer is the spin, so I designed this skirt lights up in that moment.
